Job Description

We are looking for a Certified Surgical Tech First Assist to join our team at MUSC. In this role, you will work closely with the surgical team, ensuring the care, safety, and efficiency of patients, instrumentation, and equipment during surgical procedures. Your responsibilities include providing aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other technical functions to support safe operations.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for patient care and safety during surgical procedures.
• Ensure effective communication with all team members involved.
• Maintain the integrity, safety, and efficiency of the sterile field.
• Assist with the care of sterile supplies and equipment.
• Provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions.
• Comply with hospital policies and regulations.

Requirements

• 2-year Associates degree or 4-year Bachelor's degree with specialized training in surgical processes.
• Two years of operating room technician experience required.
• Current CPR certification and Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
