Counselor (part-time)

Job Description

Lycoming College is hiring a part-time Counselor to join our Counseling Services team. The Staff Counselor will provide general counseling services to students, including individual, relationship, and group counseling. Responsibilities include delivering outreach programs, crisis intervention, consultation, and supervision. The role involves direct client services, counseling support to students, after-hours crisis intervention, collaboration with stakeholders, and maintaining accurate records. Educational requirements include a Master's degree and appropriate licensure in counseling psychology or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client services such as psychotherapy and crisis intervention.
• Offer counseling support to students individually and in groups.
• Plan, implement, and assess Counseling Services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to meet students' psychological needs.
• Develop relationships within Student Life and across the College.
• Provide consultation and education on mental health issues.
• Maintain accurate records and confidentiality.

Requirements

• Master's degree and licensure in counseling field.
• Experience in clinical counseling for college-aged population.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.
• Experience in psycho-educational programming.
• Demonstrated multicultural competencies.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and writing skills.
• Professional knowledge of crisis management and treatment modalities.
