Job Description

The Engineer, Level 1, at Courtyard Portland East is responsible for maintaining the property in optimal condition, minimizing inconvenience to guests and staff. Responsibilities include performing repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment readings, furniture repair, plumbing, electrical work, and more. Additionally, the role involves understanding blueprints, troubleshooting water lines, and handling kitchen equipment repairs. This position requires adherence to local, state, and federal codes, along with maintaining repair and maintenance records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; hotel experience preferred
• Progressive experience in a hotel or related field is beneficial
• Trade school or college coursework is helpful
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and approach situations in a service-oriented manner
• Attendance at hotel meetings and trainings required
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and comply with hotel standards
• Problem-solving skills and ability to apply complex information
• Confidentiality, initiative, and cross-training capabilities
• Hourly Rate: $19.00
