Job Description
Fibertek, Inc. is seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to join our Research and Development Team in Herndon, VA. As a Firmware Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing, verifying, and upgrading the firmware for our cutting-edge electro-optical systems. You will collaborate with small teams and contribute your expertise to advance our products for aerospace applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop, verify, and upgrade firmware for Fibertek's electro-optical systems.
- Work on small teams to ensure firmware compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with hardware designers during the development and testing phases.
- Utilize lab instruments for testing and debugging, such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience in firmware development.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- Expertise in firmware development, preferably VHDL.
- Familiarity with Xilinx and/or Microchip FPGAs and associated development tools.
- Experience with high-speed memory interfaces and communication protocols.
Bonus Skills
- Experience in Hi-Rel/Space programs.
- Knowledge of signal processing techniques.
- Expertise with IP cores and microcontrollers.
- Development experience with FPGA embedded cpu cores.
- Proficiency in designing GUI-based test software.
