Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Hornblower - City Experiences in Norfolk, VA. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the smooth operation of our kitchen, maintain high standards of quality and service, and contribute to an exceptional guest experience on our cruises.
Responsibilities
- Manage kitchen staff and ensure adherence to sanitation codes and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning and execution to meet guest expectations.
- Participate in training, scheduling, and performance management of kitchen staff.
- Monitor and control kitchen costs, inventory, and purchasing in alignment with budget.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety to meet health department requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of kitchen experience in a full-service/banquet environment.
- Prior kitchen staff management experience.
- ServSafe Certified.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
