Material Handler

Job Description

We are hiring for the position of Material Handler at Slumberland Furniture. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the movement, storage, and distribution of merchandise, ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This role involves storing, moving, and distributing products, as well as providing training to other employees. It requires meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct efficient merchandise movement within locations to maximize space utilization.
• Handle merchandise transfers to and from the show floor, ensuring proper display and storage.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for managing inventory flow.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
• Handle incoming and outgoing merchandise with care to avoid damage.
• Provide training to fellow employees and uphold a high standard of customer service.
• Adhere to safety policies, practice safe behaviors, and maintain a safe and organized facility.
• Engage in other duties as assigned, including grounds and building maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards completion).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Experience with POS systems is desirable.
