Position: Material Handler

Salary: Competitive pay starting at $17 per hour

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:

This position at Slumberland Furniture involves handling merchandise, operating forklifts, and ensuring efficient movement of products. The Material Handler will lead by example, conduct some training, and maintain inventory accuracy to provide exceptional customer service.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

• Conduct merchandise movement to enhance space efficiency.
• Manage merchandise flow to and from the show floor using the point of sale system.
• Ensure the accuracy of customer orders and system records.
• Use safe handling practices for merchandise, equipment, and tools.
• Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and vendors to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Conduct training for other employees and provide support as needed.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Experience with POS systems is desirable.
