Merchandise Handler - No Weekends

Job Description

We are currently looking for a dedicated and hardworking Merchandise Handler to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time position involves working Monday to Friday starting at 7:00 am, offering competitive pay starting at $17 per hour.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

The Merchandise Handler is responsible for the efficient movement of merchandise, which includes storing, moving, and distributing products. In addition to performing these duties, the role involves providing training to other employees and ensuring the accuracy of customer orders and system records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct efficient movement of merchandise within storage locations for space optimization.
• Transfer merchandise to and from the show floor for display, storage, delivery, or shipment.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for managing merchandise flow.
• Inspect, tag, receive, unpack, and assemble products to maintain quality standards.
• Provide training to colleagues and assist in resolving inventory discrepancies to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Practice lean principles, adhere to safety procedures, and assist in grounds and building maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or working towards a GED.
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
• Forklift operations and POS system experience are desirable.
