Merchandise Handler - Overtime Available

Job Description

We are hiring Merchandise Handlers to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. As a Merchandise Handler, you will play a crucial role in the movement and distribution of products, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all tasks. This position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour, with overtime available.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:

This position involves storing, moving, and distributing merchandise within our warehouse. Additionally, you will lead by example, provide training to other employees, and contribute to maintaining a well-organized and safe facility.

Responsibilities:

• Move and condense merchandise to optimize space utilization.
• Handle incoming and outgoing merchandise ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Use the point of sale system efficiently to manage inventory flow.
• Provide training to team members and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
• Adhere to safety practices, ensure proper handling of equipment, and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (in progress accepted).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware assembly.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge required.
• Point of sale system knowledge is advantageous.
