Preventative Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Portman. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various systems within our properties, ensuring the safety and functionality of our facilities. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Responsibilities

• Performing general facility maintenance repairs on mechanical, lighting, and hardware systems.
• Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building equipment.
• Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems.
• Assisting with emergency preparedness and response activities.
• Providing training to other technicians and maintaining a positive working relationship with colleagues and tenants.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Accredited vocational school degree in HVAC or electrical maintenance is desired.
• Relevant certifications like EPA refrigerant transition recovery certification.
• Minimum of six years of experience in repairing and maintaining commercial building equipment.
• Strong technical skills, ability to read technical instructions, and good communication skills.
• Proficiency in using a variety of tools and computer applications.
• Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
