Discover Financial Services is looking for a Senior Associate Application Engineer (SRE) to join our team. As a Senior Associate SRE, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability and performance of our critical applications, such as our Card and Bank websites and mobile application. Responsibilities

• Partner with Application Development teams and other SREs to build out end-to-end observability.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and dashboards to enhance operational efficiency.
• Automate operational processes to optimize performance.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure the availability of services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 1+ years of experience in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related areas.
• For internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of advanced beginner on the Dreyfus engineering scale.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as an SRE.
• Good understanding of hybrid infrastructure, especially AWS.
• Experience in general-purpose programming languages like Python, Go, shell scripting, Java.
• Proficiency in container technology such as Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of automation tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible.
• Expertise in observability tools including APM, synthetic monitoring, log aggregation, and dashboarding.
