Senior Insurance Follow Up Specialist

Job Description

The University of Toledo Physicians is looking for a dedicated Senior Insurance Follow Up Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will drive resolution, promote peak performance, and ensure world-class revenue cycle outcomes. You will interact with team members, insurance representatives, and other departments to resolve outstanding account balances promptly while enhancing the patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Document all actions taken for claim resolution in the practice management system.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Ensure correct registration, coding, and payment processing.
• Inquire about reasons for unpaid/denied claims and manage claims efficiently.
• Identify trends and implement preventive measures for cash collections.
• Participate in on-site support and process improvement planning.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and accounts.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in resolving insurance denials and revenue cycles.
• Basic understanding of insurance requirements, regulations, and medical terminology.
• Strong communication, analytical, and time management skills.
• Proficiency in data entry and computers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of CPT and ICD terminology.
• Familiarity with billing software.
• EPIC experience.
