Sr Merchandise Handler

Job Description

We are currently looking to hire a Senior Merchandise Handler to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. As a Senior Merchandise Handler, you will play a crucial role in the warehouse operations, focusing on merchandise movement, training, customer service, and safety.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

• Responsible for efficiently storing, moving, and distributing merchandise.
• Lead by example and provide training to other team members.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities

• Merchandise Movement
• Ensure space efficiency by moving and condensing merchandise within locations.
• Handle moving merchandise to and from the show floor for various purposes.
• Manage flow using the point of sale (POS) system and ensure accuracy in customer orders and records.
• Inspect, receive, unpack, assemble, and wrap merchandise to maintain quality.
• Training
• Provide training to other employees and lead by example.
• Customer Service
• Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
• Resolve inventory discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
• Other
• Adhere to safety policies and practices.
• Handle equipment and merchandise with care to prevent damage.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
• Point of sale (POS) system knowledge desirable.
