Toolmaker

Job Description

We are hiring a skilled Toolmaker to join the team at Select Industries Corp. As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for crafting dies and metal tools for our manufacturing operations. This role involves interpreting design schematics, cutting and shaping dies, and assembling parts to precision. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of metalwork, engineering, and have a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret assembly prints.
• Build fixtures using tools and dies.
• Repair and maintain dies, molds, and tools.
• Create designs using computer-aided design software (CAD).
• Inspect tools for quality assurance.
• Operate machine tools and maintain equipment.
• Ensure a safe and organized workspace.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience as a tool & die maker.
• Proficiency in operating measuring and production equipment.
• Knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in CAD and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience

• Prior experience in die setting or metal stamping.
• Tool and diemaker certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
• Able to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Good communication skills.

Work Environment: Ability to work in a setting with moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels.
