Railcar Repair Technician

Job Description

First Response Rail Service, Inc., a leader in rail asset management, transloading logistics, and operational support, is seeking a Railcar Repair Technician to join their team in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and performing maintenance on railcars, as well as welding, fabrication, and parts replacement. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and willing to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect railcars daily for maintenance needs.
• Perform necessary repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Conduct welding, fabrication, and heavy repairs.
• Change out railcar parts in the field.

Requirements

• Ability to travel as required.
• Proficiency in using an oxygen/acetylene torch and MIG/Stick welding.
• Good spatial awareness and attention to detail.
• Physically fit to lift heavy objects and walk significant distances.
• Strong time management skills and willingness to learn continuously.

Additional Information

Salary is competitive and negotiable based on skills and experience. Per Diem is provided for work-related travel. Working hours are Monday to Friday with occasional weekend and holiday shifts.
