Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing incoming stock, organizing and preparing merchandise for shipment, and maintaining the warehouse appearance and safety standards. Participation in warehouse inventory counts is an integral part of this position. Collaborating with peers, suppliers, and warehouse leadership to improve processes is essential in this dynamic role.

Responsibilities

  • Select and receive incoming stock efficiently.
  • Relocate merchandise throughout the warehouse in accordance with product handling guidelines.
  • Sort, organize, and strategically load merchandise for shipment and unload incoming shipments from trucks/back-hauls.
  • Perform general cleaning duties to maintain the warehouse appearance standards and safety requirements.
  • Participate in warehouse inventory counts according to guidelines.
  • Cooperate and interact effectively with peers, suppliers, and warehouse leadership through ongoing communication and exchange of information.
  • Provide input to warehouse management regarding changes to improve processes.
  • Inspect product, consult with warehouse management regarding product quality, safety concerns, and sanitation issues.
  • Act and decide independently within the delegated area of responsibility.
  • Assist warehouse management in achieving budgeted goals.
  • Follow the ergonomic program according to established procedures.
  • Operate equipment according to safety guidelines in the performance of essential job functions.
  • Notifies management regarding product quality, safety concerns, and sanitation issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to lift and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on pallets at various heights.
  • Frequently move merchandise from warehouse stock and prepare products for store deliveries.
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, bend, reach, grip, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk throughout the warehouse.
  • Continuously work in varying temperatures, hot and cold, including outdoor temperatures and refrigerator/freezer environments.
  • Ability to safely and properly operate powered industrial equipment.
