Accounting Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and independently responsible Accounting Specialist to join the Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC). As an Accounting Specialist, you will perform technical accounting functions for the financial operations of the Regional Council or its subdivisions on a part-time basis. Your responsibilities will include working directly with the general ledger, account reconciliation, report preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assisting with payroll functions. Emphasis will be placed on ensuring compliance with accounting procedures, systems, and policies, while maintaining accuracy and reliability in completing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical accounting functions for the financial operations.
• Work with the general ledger, including account reconciliation and report preparation.
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and assist with payroll functions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting procedures, systems, and policies.

Requirements

• Knowledge of general accounting principles, budgeting processes, and internal controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish relationships within the organization.
• Resourceful problem solver with the ability to work independently.

Salary

Anticipated starting salary is $18.01 per hour. Part-time position not exceeding 20 hours per work week.
