Job Description

We are hiring for the position of Auxiliary Operator Trainee at Constellation Energy. As the nation's largest producer of clean, carbon-free energy, Constellation is leading the way in combating the climate crisis. As an Auxiliary Operator Trainee, you will work under direct supervision, performing operational activities including log taking, equipment evaluation, system valve alignments, system operations, system tag outs, and related administrative duties.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, control, and operate nuclear station equipment in the control room.
  • Start, stop, control, and monitor nuclear reactor and auxiliary reactor systems.
  • Operate pumps, valves, switchgear, controls, and other system components.
  • Respond to plant indicators and alarms, taking designated actions as necessary.
  • Participate in station fire brigade activities.
  • Identify and correct deficient conditions through the Corrective Action program.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of Power Plant experience, including 1 year of Nuclear Power Plant experience.
  • Candidates must pass the Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) Examination.
  • Ability to meet and maintain requirements for unescorted access to a nuclear facility.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various conditions and be available for on-call status.

Starting salary: $41.20/hour
