Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Breakfast Cook to join our team at Holiday Inn Charlottesville VA. As a Breakfast Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing food for all Food and Beverage Outlets, maintaining high standards of hygiene, health, and safety, and ensuring excellent customer service. This is a full-time position reporting to the Kitchen Manager, with opportunities for growth and development within a dynamic hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Prepare and service food items according to hotel recipes and standards.
  • Assist in cleaning the kitchen area and maintaining equipment and inventory control.
  • Maintain proper rotation of products to minimize wastage/spoilage.
  • Stock inventory, set up stations, and ensure timely food delivery.

  • Understanding of Safe Serving practices and Virginia laws.
  • Ability to work well in high-pressure situations and handle guest complaints effectively.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years' experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
  • ServSafe certification is preferred.
  • Basic mathematical and computer skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand or walk for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in hot or cold environments.
  • Handle potentially infectious materials and chemicals.
