Construction Estimator

Job Description

We are looking for a Construction Estimator to join University Mechanical Contractors, Inc (UMC) in Everett, WA. As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for bidding and budgeting various construction projects including Industrial Piping, Equipment, Structural, Civil works, HVAC/Air Systems, and complex mechanical systems. Your role will involve coordinating activities from receiving plans to submitting bids or proposals.

Responsibilities

• Take in Plan/Drawings sets and organize them.
• Perform take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment using IG Tick Sheets.
• Understand Union Trade agreements and IG Trade Rate sheets.
• Participate in bid activities, including obtaining specialty quotes and subcontractor pricing.
• Review specifications and drawings before estimating.
• Prepare estimates from initial design to fully developed bid documents.
• Collaborate with directors and managers on estimates and proposals.
• Develop project budgets and schedules.
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors.

Requirements

• Technical knowledge of mechanical systems and construction methods.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Experience in reading construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in construction estimating software and tools.
• Team player with the ability to work effectively with others.
• College degree or equivalent experience in estimating.
• 5+ years of estimating experience in Industrial/Mechanical projects.
• Valid Driver's License.
