Job Description

Marine Hydraulics International, LLC is seeking a talented Cost Accountant to join our team at MHI Ship Repair & Services. As a key member of our financial department, the Cost Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and providing valuable insights for decision-making processes. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, be detail-oriented, and have a solid background in cost accounting principles and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate monthly revenue and prepare financial project result reports.
  • Assist in reviewing monthly project EACs and supporting project managers with EAC preparation.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Update financial forecasts, including project revenue, gross margin, and indirect expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR and CAS regulations regarding indirect rates.
  • Support Contracts department with cost reporting and related tasks.
  • Drive process improvements and participate in ad-hoc projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a cost accountant or similar role.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other financial software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain high accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
