Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team at Northern Manufacturing Co. This pivotal role involves overseeing equipment maintenance, enhancing operational efficiency, and fostering a culture of safety and excellence in the maintenance department.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize equipment emergencies to minimize plant downtime and optimize factory productivity.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance team activities, including scheduling, task assignments, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with production managers to minimize workflow disruptions and prioritize maintenance needs.
  • Direct installation, setup, and repair of production equipment and machinery.
  • Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs for building, grounds, and machinery to improve quality continually.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate project work and maintenance activities.
  • Research, recommend, and procure necessary supplies and tools, managing inventory effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Negotiate subcontracts and purchases for building maintenance needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, actively participating in safety meetings.
  • Lead housekeeping audits to ensure standards are upheld.
  • Provide training and mentorship to maintenance staff on best practices, safety protocols, and equipment operation.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in engineering or equivalent technical field; or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience; Supervisory maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong employee relations, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Experience in repairing and troubleshooting robots/automation.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to obtain a forklift license.
