Nurse Practitioner

Job Description

University Gastroenterology LLC is currently looking for a full-time GI Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Providence, RI. As part of our physician-owned group practice, the Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for delivering quality care independently and in collaboration with our healthcare team. The role involves a combination of office-based practice, inpatient care at Miriam Hospital, as well as coordination with other Nurse Practitioners for hospital rounding and office hours.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver quality care while adhering to practice policies and safety regulations.
• Conduct new patient consultations, diagnose health issues, and recommend treatment options.
• Collaborate with the medical team and manage patient care plans.
• Coordinate inpatient endoscopic procedures and administer tests and medications.
• Provide necessary referrals and after-care information to patients and families.
• Maintain up-to-date patient records and supervise infusions.

Job Requirements

• Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a healthcare team environment.
• Experience with EMR systems like Lifespan Epic is preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
• Bilingual abilities are advantageous.
