Job Description

The Polysomnographer/Sleep Technologist at Campbell County Health is responsible for supporting and coordinating departmental functions, ensuring achievement of departmental goals according to the rules and regulations of relevant medical bodies and maintaining excellent customer service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with initiation, maintenance, billing, and completion of the admission and discharge process.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Perform pre and post patient and equipment calibrations as well as equipment decontamination.
  • Provide patient and family education and respond to after-hour call back.
  • Participate in quality improvement and maintain professional standards by completing required continuing education/certificates.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, confidentiality, and Corporate Compliance Program.

Job Qualifications

  • Education
    • High School graduate
    • A certificate from an AMA-approved school
  • Licensure
    • Current CPSGT or RPSGT from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists, RST from the American Board of Sleep Medicine, or RRT-SDS from the NBRC
  • Experience
    • 1 – 2 years

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to maintain continuing education requirements and all necessary certifications and licenses.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with nursing staff, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills with a high level of mental concentration and memory.
  • Computer knowledge including experience with electronic records, fax, computer, and copy machine operation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmental stages and application of developmental theories/concepts when planning and implementing care for different age groups.
