Job Description

We are looking to hire a Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse specialized in Pediatrics to join our team at Pediatric Associates of Greater Salem Inc. As a Care Team Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the clinical leadership of our care team, ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities and providing high-quality care to our patients. Reporting to the Pediatrician, Nurse Practitioner, and Nurse Manager, your responsibilities will include managing high-risk and chronically ill patients, offering patient education, conducting direct care and laboratory services, and managing telephone and direct triage.

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate expertise in infection control and standard precautions.
  • Provide age-appropriate care to pediatric patients and demonstrate proficiency in using medical equipment.
  • Assess the holistic needs of clients and families and make appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Offer urgent triage care and crisis management both in-office and over the phone.
  • Accurately document nursing care in the EMR system.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer vaccines, medications, and conduct in-office procedures efficiently and professionally.
  • Follow up with patients post-hospital discharge to prevent complications and readmissions.
  • Engage in continuing education to stay updated with pediatric care best practices.
  • Adhere to practice policies and procedures and meet the physical demands of the job.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and email communication.

Educational Requirements: Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an RN or LPN, Basic Life Support certification, and completion of Continuing Education Units are necessary. Knowledge and practice within the guidelines of the American Nursing Association Standards of Practice are expected.
