Corporate Controller

Job Description

Gertens Family of Businesses is seeking a dedicated Corporate Controller with a CPA designation to lead the Accounting Department in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. As a senior executive reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the Controller will oversee general accounting, financial reporting, and business services ensuring compliance with established policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the Accounting Department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
• Oversee month-end closing activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and cost allocations.
• Partner with department heads to assess organizational performance against goals.
• Develop tools to provide financial information and strategic recommendations.
• Lead long-term budgeting and cost management aligning with the strategic plan.
• Enhance financial systems and control processes.
• Mentor and develop a team of direct reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
• Active CPA designation or willingness to obtain/reinstate within the first year.
• Eight to ten years of financial management experience.
