Job Description
The Data Center Operations Technician I position at Flexential is a critical 24x7x365 role that involves providing physical and Level II technical support to customers and resources. This role requires a strong understanding of Facilities infrastructure, Windows operating systems, PC troubleshooting, and management applications. Successful candidates must demonstrate professionalism and technical proficiency while interacting with customers and internal resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides timely resolution and escalation of Facility and customer issues.
- Maintains a professional attitude and conduct while performing data center duties.
- Troubleshoots and documents technical issues using the Flexential ticketing system.
- Follows Flexential Support and Data Center policies, processes, and procedures.
- Provides local access and escorts for vendors and carriers.
- Performs remote hands work for both internal and external customers.
- Supports 24/7 operations and is available for shifts in a 24x7x365 environment.
- Assists in physical and logical installations of Flexential services.
- Maintains cleanliness of the Data Center and surrounding areas.
- Conducts Facilities Rounds and escalates relevant information.
- Manages in and out-bound shipping/receiving for customers and Flexential deliveries.
- Operates and manages the Badge Access Security System.
- Assists the Critical Infrastructure Manager (CIM) as needed.
- Works with local management to maintain cabling and general usage item inventory levels.
- Performs other required duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Operating systems.
- Self-starting and motivated individual.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to deadlines.
- Preferably 1 year of experience in an IT Support environment.
- Educational qualifications such as AA, BS, or High School Diploma.
- Certifications like Network +, Security +, CCNA, Microsoft MCP, or MCSA are desirable.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Comfort working in cold temperature environments.
- Capability to operate pallet jacks and lift heavy objects.
- Proficiency in pulling and installing cabling.
Hourly Pay Range
- The estimated hourly pay range for this position is ($20.30 - $23.81), subject to candidate experience, location, and qualifications.
