Data Center Operations Technician I

Job Description

The Data Center Operations Technician I role at Flexential is a critical 24x7x365 position responsible for providing physical and Level II technical support to customers and resources. This position requires a solid understanding of Facilities infrastructure, Windows operating systems, PC troubleshooting, and management applications. The ideal candidate will represent Flexential professionally and technically during interactions with customers and internal resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide timely resolution and/or escalation of Facility and customer issues.
• Maintain a professional attitude and conduct while performing data center duties.
• Troubleshoot and document technical issues using the Flexential ticketing system.
• Follow Flexential Support and Data Center policies, processes, and procedures.
• Provide local access and escort for vendors and carriers.
• Perform remote hands work for internal and external customers.
• Support 24/7 operations and work in a 24x7x365 environment.
• Assist with physical and logical installations of Flexential services.
• Maintain Data Center cleanliness and perform Facilities Rounds.
• Process shipping/receiving for Customers and Flexential Deliveries.
• Operate and Manage Badge Access Security System.
• Assist Critical Infrastructure Manager (CIM) when needed.
• Collaborate with local management on cabling and inventory levels.
• Perform any other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

• Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Understanding of Windows and Microsoft Operating systems.
• Self-starter attitude with motivation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and meeting deadlines.
• Preferably 1 year of experience in an IT Support environment.
• AA, BS, or High School Diploma.
• Network +, Security +, CCNA desirable.
• Microsoft MCP or MCSA preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Aptitude to work in cold environments and lift heavy objects.
• Proficiency in handling pallet jacks and cabling installations.

Hourly Pay Range

• The estimated hourly pay range for this position is $19.33 - $22.67 contingent upon experience, location, and qualifications.
