Job Description

Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC) is seeking an Experienced Construction Inspector to join our team in Wichita, KS. As a Construction Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of various construction projects, encompassing civil, municipal, architectural, and environmental disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect all phases of construction projects to ensure compliance with regulations and specifications.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings including infrastructure, transportation, and site plans.
  • Attend meetings, resolve issues, and provide recommendations for necessary changes.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, track quantities, and conduct final inspections.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with team members and clients.
  • Perform materials testing in the field as required.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and procedures at construction sites.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of construction inspection experience.
  • Knowledge of city, state, and federal construction codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical documents.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in field settings and travel for projects.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Requirements

  • Municipal water/wastewater treatment plant inspection experience is preferred.
  • KDOT CITT and ACI Certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to work 50+ hours per week and weekends when required.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the state of Kansas.

Tools and Equipment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant construction software.
  • Experience with measuring tools, testing equipment, and motor vehicles.
