Job Description

We are hiring an Engineer II - DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing) to join our team at EarthScope Consortium. This role involves managing and implementing field projects related to geophysical instruments and networks across various locations. As an Engineer II, you will work collaboratively within the organization to identify new technologies, provide technical support, and ensure project adherence to best practices and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Implement geophysical projects and assist with project execution.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues related to geophysical sensors and data systems.
  • Collaborate on the design and testing of new systems.
  • Document project activities and prepare technical reports.
  • Participate in collaborative projects within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, geosciences, or related field.
  • Experience with geophysical sensors or networks.
  • Proficiency in data quality analysis software is preferred.

Additional Skills

  • Experience in Fiber Optics Distributed Sensing applications.
  • Knowledge of signal processing methods and laboratory equipment.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages.

Environment

This position requires physical endurance and flexibility for fieldwork in diverse and challenging environments. Travel, including to polar regions, may be necessary.
