Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Engineer II - Geodesy Instrumentation to join our team at EarthScope Consortium. As an Engineer II, you will play a key role in managing and implementing field projects related to geophysical instruments and networks. Your responsibilities will include logistical arrangements, field operations, instrument design evaluation, and technical documentation. You will collaborate with team members and contribute to the development of new geophysical technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Implement geophysical projects and assist with multiple projects.
  • Solve technical issues related to geophysical sensor hardware and software.
  • Participate in the design and testing of new systems.
  • Evaluate instrument design and data/metadata for system adequacy.
  • Ensure proper documentation of activities and metadata.
  • Develop technical reports and documentation formats.
  • Collaborate with other departments and project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, geosciences, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with geophysical sensors or networks.
  • Experience with data quality analysis software preferred.

Environment

This role involves fieldwork under challenging conditions, requiring physical ability and travel to national and international locations. Safety training and a valid driver's license are essential.
