Senior State Program Director

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Senior State Program Director to join our team at Working America Associa. As a Senior State Program Director, you will lead and manage programs across assigned states and campaigns, while also enhancing our organizational and political presence in the progressive community. This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC, with a competitive starting salary of $73,633 per year, including medical insurance and a 401(k) with employer contribution.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the achievement of membership recruitment and organizational goals in assigned states and campaigns.
• Train and develop State Program Directors and other program staff.
• Represent Working America within local labor councils, AFL-CIO affiliates, and allied organizations.
• Collaborate with national staff to develop and implement campaigns encompassing various issues and member engagement strategies.
• Raise funds and increase the organization's profile within the state(s) through donor engagement and outreach.
• Manage program activity databases and support national projects and campaigns as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years experience as a State Program Director at Working America or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a field canvass director is preferred.
• Strong background in electoral, labor, or progressive politics.
• Knowledge of national and local labor movement structures.
• Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in computer use and data analysis.
• Ability to travel and work irregular hours when necessary.
