Service Technician

Job Description

We are currently looking for motivated Service Technicians to join our team at Rudd Equipment Company. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on heavy equipment in both shop and field environments. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will be essential to maintain our equipment and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs and work in a safe manner.
• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical deficiencies on heavy equipment.
• Perform repairs in the field environment and fabricate parts as needed.
• Repair and replace various components of heavy equipment systems.
• Work efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction and adhere to quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and drive-train systems.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in diagnosing and repairing various equipment systems.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical information.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Technical school graduate preferred.
• Experience with Volvo and paving equipment beneficial.
• Valid driver's license and DOT Medical Certification required.

Communication Skills

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to document complaints and repair processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills for customer interactions.

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to lift heavy equipment parts, work in varying weather conditions, and obtain a DOT Medical Certification. Must be able to perform physical tasks related to equipment repair.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, with variable work hours and occasional overtime as needed.
