Manufacturing Process Specialist

Job Description

Preformed Line Products is looking for a Manufacturing Process Specialist to drive global manufacturing performance improvement through equipment, process engineering, and product engineering collaboration. This role involves leadership in technical process improvement, production equipment strategy, product engineering collaboration, and operations support.

Essential Functions

• Manufacturing Process Leadership:
  • Lead technical process improvement and troubleshooting on metal and plastic fabrication.
  • Increase manufacturing productivity using process KPIs.
  • Support remote site alignment on manufacturing process standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Coach site manufacturing engineering teams for development.
• Production Equipment Strategy:
  • Drive improvement plans for helical wire processing equipment.
  • Maintain and update global proprietary machine design drawing catalog.
  • Lead the global machine maintenance strategy to improve asset availability.
  • Review and support new capital equipment business case development.
• Product Engineering Collaboration:
  • Provide recommendations for product development engineers (Design for Manufacturability).
  • Support PLM software implementation.
• Operations support and technical expertise:
  • Introduce new manufacturing developments to PLP sites globally.
  • Assess overall operations performance and drive improvement actions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of ten years of experience in engineering or management.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing technology and processing methods.
• Minimum of five years of management experience.
• Ability in Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
• Proficiency in manufacturing, inventory control, and costing software applications.
• Travel Requirements: 30%.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Organizational and project management abilities.
• Capacity to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds.
