Responsibilities
- Represent clients in civil litigation cases by preparing legal documents and conducting research.
- Manage various stages of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration proceedings.
- Collaborate with colleagues and staff to ensure efficient case management.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry developments.
- Provide outstanding client service and regular updates on case progress.
- Attend and represent clients in legal proceedings.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license to practice law in Maine.
- Proven experience in civil litigation with strong analytical, research, and writing abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and dedicated to upholding ethical standards and client confidentiality.
- Willingness to travel locally and statewide as needed and work beyond standard hours.
