Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Banquet Chef to join our culinary team at Essex Resort Holdings. As a Banquet Chef, you will be responsible for food preparation and supervision, ensuring exceptional quality and service for all banquet functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write transfers and food requisitions supervised by the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
  • Prepare designated food items according to standard recipes and policies.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration between kitchen and banquet staff.
  • Consult on banquet forecasts and special functions with the Executive Chef.
  • Supervise staff, ensuring cleanliness of kitchen equipment and areas.
  • Place orders for necessary equipment and supervise food requisitioning.
  • Ensure proper breakdown and storage of banquet function items.
  • Report equipment defects and irregularities to the Executive Chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of culinary experience in a multi-unit hotel or conference center.
  • Previous experience in supervising a staff of fifteen or more employees.
  • Culinary training and knowledge of culinary departments.
  • Basic accounting skills and creativity in food preparation.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
