Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Banquet Chef to join our culinary team at Essex Resort Holdings. As a Banquet Chef, you will be responsible for food preparation and supervision, ensuring exceptional quality and service for all banquet functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Write transfers and food requisitions supervised by the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
- Prepare designated food items according to standard recipes and policies.
- Promote teamwork and collaboration between kitchen and banquet staff.
- Consult on banquet forecasts and special functions with the Executive Chef.
- Supervise staff, ensuring cleanliness of kitchen equipment and areas.
- Place orders for necessary equipment and supervise food requisitioning.
- Ensure proper breakdown and storage of banquet function items.
- Report equipment defects and irregularities to the Executive Chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three to five years of culinary experience in a multi-unit hotel or conference center.
- Previous experience in supervising a staff of fifteen or more employees.
- Culinary training and knowledge of culinary departments.
- Basic accounting skills and creativity in food preparation.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
