Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and independently responsible Accountant to join the Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC). The successful candidate should be a CPA candidate and possess knowledge of general accounting principles. As an Accountant at PTRC, you will be responsible for working directly with the general ledger, performing account reconciliations, and assisting departments. You will play a crucial role in developing, reviewing, and modifying accounting procedures, systems, and policies. The position also involves preparing and analyzing fiscal reports, interpreting the Fiscal Control Act, and exercising independent judgment in completing assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the general ledger, including account reconciliations and assisting departments.
  • Develop, review, and modify accounting procedures, systems, and policies.
  • Prepare and analyze fiscal reports and interpret the Fiscal Control Act.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Current CPA candidate with up to two years of professional accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and resolve problem situations independently.
