Job Description
Discover Financial Services is looking for an Application Engineer to join their dynamic team. As an Application Engineer, you will collaborate with product designers and user experience experts to enhance the customer experience on discover.com. This role involves analyzing, designing, and deploying new features while ensuring the highest quality standards. You will provide guidance to junior team members, contribute to technology communities, and actively manage risks within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, program, test, and deploy new features with high quality to production.
- Provide guidance to junior team members and influence others to achieve team commitments.
- Oversee design decisions, guide the team for key results, and create proactive solutions for potential failures.
- Manage and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues within the organization.
- Contribute to and lead technology communities at Discover.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related fields.
- Technical proficiency rating of competent on the Dreyfus engineering scale for internal applicants.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Java, Spring Boot, React, and UI Technology experience.
- Experience with TDD, BDD, Selenium/Cucumber for test automations.
- Knowledge of Cloud, containerization, and strong teamwork skills.

Compensation: Base pay ranges between $86,500.00 to $146,100.00 plus additional incentives.
