Automation Technician

Job Description

We are looking for an Automation Technician to join our team at Red River Commodities, a leading processor of agricultural products. As an Automation Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the performance of our automated and robotic equipment in the Horace facility. Collaborating with production and maintenance teams, you will optimize production, identify process improvements, and ensure the efficient operation of electronic control systems and robotics.

Responsibilities

• Optimize facility performance through electronic controls, automation, and robotics.
• Study control systems architecture and plant systems for in-depth understanding.
• Identify and address deficiencies in programing, execution, or operator training.
• Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions for PLCs, robotics, VFDs, and automation systems.
• Contribute to long-term maintenance strategy and automation improvement projects.
• Train operators on automation systems and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

Requirements

• 2-year technical degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Certification in PLC maintenance or programming.
• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Background in food processing or agriculture is a plus.
