Maintenance Technician

Job Description

As a proactive team member, our Maintenance Technician at McIntosh Box & Pallet Co Inc is responsible for performing and managing plant maintenance programs under the direction of the Plant Manager. The Maintenance Technician must ensure that health and safety standards, product quality, and environmental protection are maintained at all times.

The successful candidate will adhere to health and safety policies, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant utilities including pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures in plant manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain process hand tools, such as pneumatic or electric saws and nail guns.
• Conduct minor unscheduled maintenance and repair on equipment like forklifts and yard shuttle trucks.
• Document performance and processes accurately and timely.
• Schedule, execute, and document work orders.
• Provide coaching on the use and repair of industrial production equipment.
• Perform basic carpentry and masonry tasks for plant improvement.
• Undertake miscellaneous tasks such as electrical/plumbing work, painting, building repairs, and landscaping as needed.

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined with knowledge of common mechanics tools.
• Preferred 30-hour OSHA course and welding knowledge.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial systems.
• Understanding of industrial air compressors and components.
• 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Experience with high-priority projects and CMMS.
• Physical ability to lift 75 pounds and perform tasks for extended periods.
• Proficiency in MS Office and internet applications.
• Strong communication skills and a high school diploma or GED.
