Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Valley Counseling Services, a program of Family & Community Services, Inc. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) reporting to the Clinical Director and Medical Director. As an LPN, you will be responsible for administering medication, handling client inquiries about medical issues, assisting psychiatrists, and observing/reporting client health concerns.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and monitor client response.
• Provide emergency care and first aid when necessary.
• Observe and report client behavior and health issues during crises.
• Assist with medication orders and administration.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and committees as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate client issues promptly.
• Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and legal standards.

Qualifications

• Skills in psychiatric nursing and medication administration.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention, psychotropic medications, and DSM diagnoses.
• Effective communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients.

Requirements

• First Aid, CPR, and De-escalation training required.
• Valid Ohio LPN license and medication administration certification.
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to communicate clearly, drive to different locations, and perform tasks like walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Compensation

$21-21 Hourly Wage
