Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Associate Application Engineer to join Discover Financial Services. As a part of our team, you will program features and test cases while learning about product development and operations concepts. This role offers the opportunity to accelerate technical knowledge by collaborating with engineering teammates and contributing to the creation of high-visibility customer experiences in web and mobile applications.
Responsibilities
- Complete features and user stories including test cases and automation independently.
- Learn advanced software engineering practices like domain-driven design and test-driven development.
- Contribute to agile ceremonies, lead demos, and participate in technology communities.
- Participate in system design decisions and learn how they impact the product.
- Learn to manage production systems and understand their impact on the product.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 1+ years of experience in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Internal applicants: technical proficiency rating of advanced beginner on the Dreyfus engineering scale.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Agile development, React Native/ReactJS, CI/CD pipelines, object-oriented principles, and software testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of frameworks like RTL and Playwright.
External applicants will undergo a technical interview.

Compensation ranges from $71,500.00 to $121,100.00, with additional incentives possible.
