Responsibilities
- Represent DFS in transactional matters, contract drafting, and negotiations.
- Provide legal counsel on competitive solicitations and rule promulgation.
- Handle licensee discipline, licensure denial, and rule development for various divisions.
- Participate in administrative litigation related to workers' compensation coverage and defense.
- Assist in self-insurance regulation, injured employee assistance, and rule development.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in the Florida Bar.
- Prior experience in legal practice, preferably in areas related to contracts, insurance, or workers' compensation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and handle complex legal issues efficiently.
