Senior Principal Model Governance

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Senior Principal Model Governance professional to join our team at Discover Financial Services. In this role, you will provide tactical direction in setting up policies, procedures, and standards for managing model risk. You will collaborate closely with various teams to manage complex enterprise model governance frameworks and ensure operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of new guidance affecting model risk.
• Enforce standard policies and procedures related to model usage and process controls.
• Lead and maintain model risk management infrastructure.
• Interact with regulators and auditors to demonstrate operational effectiveness.
• Produce reports for internal stakeholders, committees, and regulatory agencies.
• Establish and maintain model development, validation, and retirement standards.
• Manage issues, updates, and escalate as needed.
• Analyze quantitative models and associated risks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Business, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• 6+ years experience in Model Risk Management, Model Governance, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 8+ years experience in Model Risk Management.
• Proficiency in SAS, SQL, Tableau, PMP, FRM.

Compensation

Base pay ranges from $103,000.00 to $174,200.00. Additional incentives available based on experience and skills.
