Role Summary/Purpose: The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will support assembly for legacy and NPI programs, improving safety, quality, and technological development.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide production troubleshooting and direction to manufacturing personnel.
- Develop assembly work instructions and repair plans.
- Design new assembly and inspection tooling.
- Review engineering drawings and specifications.
- Lead process improvement initiatives.
- Drive labor hour reduction and enhanced productivity.
- Provide ME/DFM input on NPI design activities.
- Lead equipment upgrades and support research and R&D.
- Ensure processes prioritize safety and ergonomics.
- Support audit activities and investigate product quality issues.
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
- Technical and hands-on fabrication and assembly experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- CAD experience.
Desired Characteristics
- Catia V5 experience.
- Aerospace background.
- GD&T experience.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods experience.
