Job Description
We are looking for an Application Engineer (Full Stack) to join Discover Financial Services, a leading digital banking and payments company. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain solutions that align with business needs. You will design innovative software systems and lead the implementation of best practices. Your contributions will impact the core financial functionality of the Card business and drive the transition to modern, cloud-based microservices.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to product team deliverables using Java programming technology.
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in the product delivery cycle.
- Solve complex technical problems and explore new ways to create value.
- Collaborate with business partners to understand requirements.
- Analyze, design, program, test, and deploy new features with high quality.
- Guide the team in achieving key results for assigned products.
- Lead technology communities and drive innovation at Discover.
- Apply engineering principles to create proactive design solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Information Technology or Software Engineering.
- Dreyfus engineering scale rating of competent (internal applicants).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cloud Technologies like AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and OpenShift.
- Strong automation mindset for testing and build/deploy concepts.
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Github Actions, Chef, and Ansible.
- Technical skills in Java, Spring, Kafka, Openshift, and Jenkins.

Compensation
Base salary ranges from $86,500.00 to $146,100.00, with additional incentives.
