Job Description
Join First Student, the leading school transportation provider in North America, as a Diesel Mechanic at our Laurel Highlands School District shop. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing 2016-2022 Freightliner Thomas school buses to ensure safety and vehicle readiness. This role involves assisting with preventive maintenance, safety inspections, diagnostics, and completing work orders accurately.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and DOT maintenance inspections.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle components like brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
- Ensure accurate completion of work orders and provide mobile emergency services support.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with willingness to obtain CDL.
- 5+ years of automotive or diesel maintenance experience or technical school education.
- Mechanic's tool set required.
- Willingness to participate in ASE certification program with provided training and bonuses.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical. Compliance with DOT regulations.
