Expert Application Engineer (Quality)

Job Description

We are looking for an Expert Application Engineer (Quality) to join Discover Financial Services, a leading digital banking and payments company. In this role, you will play a key part in agile delivery teams, contributing to refining and testing requirements, building automated regression test suites, and ensuring the continuous delivery of quality applications. Responsibilities

• Research new technology opportunities to enhance technical capabilities at Discover.
• Drive strategic technology decisions through collaboration with external experts.
• Contribute to shaping Discover Technology's external image and learning paths for engineers.
• Participate in internal and external communities as a thought leader.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related.
• Must have expert technical proficiency according to the Dreyfus engineering scale.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Cloud Technologies, especially AWS.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining APIs, containerized applications, and IaaS.
• Passion for high quality standards and test automation practices.
• Programming language expertise in Java and/or Python.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, organization, and time management abilities.
• Knowledge in Golang, full stack web development using React and Node.js, and risk management is a plus.

Compensation

The base salary ranges between $125,500.00 to $211,500.00, with additional incentives based on factors like experience, education, and location.
