Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Principal Application Engineer to join Discover Financial Services. In this role, you will develop and maintain full stack solutions, collaborate with business partners, innovate on best practices, and lead the team in implementing solutions. Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining front-end and back-end systems, creating DevOps processes, supporting live systems, and more.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
- 8+ years of experience in Computer Science or related field
- In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in Computer Science or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in key technologies such as Java, Python, CI/CD, and containerization platforms
- Strong software engineering skills including React JS, Javascript, and CSS
- Understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
- Experience with data platforms like S3, Snowflake, and API service architectures
