Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Principal Product Owner specializing in Payroll and Timekeeping to join Discover Financial Services. In this role, you will collaborate with HR Technology leaders to deliver impactful product outcomes aligned with stakeholder requests while managing change impacts. This position requires in-depth knowledge of Payroll, Absence, and Timekeeping functions to create feasible solutions, manage risks, and escalate issues effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead prioritization of business requests by engaging with Human Resources, Compensation, and Benefits leaders, ensuring proper resourcing and planning.
  • Utilize insights, financials, and risk data to define key product features and roadmaps in partnership with business leaders and configuration teams.
  • Align product vision with Workday and ServiceNow to leverage high-impact functionalities.
  • Own documentation creation, MVP definition, non-functional requirements identification, and feature prioritization.
  • Ensure product features comply with Discover standards and manage user story acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to optimize system components and infrastructure maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in Product, Business, Technical, or related areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Workday's Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence products.
  • Experience in project management, business requirements gathering, User Acceptance Testing, Change Management, and Agile methodology.
